This dry cleaners has been where i have taken my business for the 22 years i have lived in Newtown , Ct ., 06470. Although, i have only had minor issues in the past recently I did have reason to ask for my dry cleaning charge of $25.00 be refunded, but, I could have asked for the reimbursemnt of my curtain tas well as that was now at least 4 inches shorter than the other sets of curtain on the other two windows in the room that had been not been sent for dry cleaning. To be honest , I'm not unsure if i had taken this dry cleaning company at Queen Street in Newtown, Ct to the cleaners in small claims court that they would not have been ordered to replace all three curtain sets, as with them ruining one the set of three is essentially ruined. The curtain in question that was shrunk, and now not able to fully close and cover the window , plus hangs horribly, due to starched , was orginally torn and missing a button at the top, where it had been tugged out the wall , plus the house was for sale , in event of this I only asked to be reimbursed for my dry cleaning charge , but the company dismissed my phone calls and even ignored Better Business Bureau complaint to date.
I rate this company one star , but not necessairly the ladies who work there and have served me for the 22 years, for it is not their fault that the owner will not be decent . I even expressed to one of the counter ladies who is the manager that if my complaint was going to get any employee in trouble just forget it , She assured me that would not be the case, but not sure the boss would do anything. And he has done nothing but ignore my request for my dry cleaning charge refunded to date and a refund does not look forth coming either!!
Very poor customer service , but that is what happens when you have the monopoly , which is wrong, BBB should look into that too!!
Unless you enjoy rude and horrible service accompanied by unsatisfactory cleaning of your garments, DO NOT bring your business here!!! Over the past few years I have brought a few pieces to this establishment STRICTLY based on time restraints and convenience of their location ( while grocery shopping, depositing money into the bank ect., I thought : "why not just drop off my dry cleaning as well?" ), and EVERY TIME I have regretted that decision. Not only are the clothes NEVER ready by the time they are said to be, they usually are incomplete. I have witnessed the OWNER yelling and snapping at customers, and have even observed one customer being DENIED the return of their garment entirely simply because the phone number, typed in by an employee of the business, was wrong ( turns out two of the numbers were simply switched around) and therefore the customer was told their account did not even exist! They are extremely overpriced as well and, quite honestly I am outright disgusted and outraged that a business has the audacity to produce such low quality work and treat their customers, whom they are certainly LUCKY to have, in such an ignorant, poor manner. Luckily, there are several Dry Cleaners in the area who are better priced, do better work and actually understand the value of their customers. I am certainly looking forward to seeing the "FOR LEASE" sign up, hopefully soon, in the window of the former Queen Street Cleaners.
I tired finding out the other dry cleaners this owner may own in the area so as not to use this establishment again as I'm terribly disappointed after 22 years as a customer and never having made a complaint in the past i was made to feel less than a valued customer!!
I've always enjoyed using this cleaners for the years I've lived in Newtown. I continue to use them even after having moved to a neighboring town. Excellent fast service.
